イベントについて | About the Event

Hack Coworking Tokyo 2021 is a 3-day event combining talks, workshops and a hackathon on the topic of the future of work and workspaces. We invite people who are interested in how our working style will change within the next few years to come together to learn and engage in creative problem-solving while having the opportunity to win some of the amazing prizes from our partners.

If we look to the future in 2040, where would you be, who would you be working with and how do you want to be working?

As the number of social issues rises such as increased life expectancy, and a decrease in the Japanese population, we also see the rise of remote working and freelancing; it’s inevitable that these shifts bring about big changes in the way we work and live. With the rapid increase of shared office environments, we believe that coworking spaces have the potential to be part of the solution. With this in mind, we created an immersive event to foster the creation of new products and services that can be developed in the next 20 years to support life at work in the next 100 years.

For who are we hacking?

The way we live in cities, coworking spaces are acting as catalyst points for new ideas, business relationships and other social interactions. More and more people are becoming exposed to a variety of new skills and knowledge, while building solid offline work networks. Join the Coworkies team at Shibuya QWS and imagine a new world of coworking spaces evolving to enhance the entire tenant experience across the real estate ecosystem.

Cities and Remote Areas

Cities are no longer the only place for concentrations of work and it’s now trendy to migrate from large cities to more rural areas of Japan, due to the availability of coworking spaces and the popularity of remote work. What are the next steps we should take to connect the central business districts to professionals who operate from afar? How can we improve the relationship between workplaces in the city and professionals who work remotely?

Spaces

Workspaces can now be defined beyond just an office. They can be hammocks, pods, tatamis and cafes. With a new shift in how we work, questions in how we innovate these spaces to maximize comfort and productivity also arise. What can be incorporated to enrich life in them?

People

Now, coworking spaces are a hub for individuals seeking a more modern approach to work. With that, how can we better connect those individuals who share the same workspace so they can cooperate and thrive?
Coworking spaces are a brilliant way of bringing together people from different fields, allowing networking opportunities and sharing of ideas.

  • The workplace of the future will be more than just a place to do business. It will be an essential microcosm of society that is connected, convivial, commercially viable, culturally aware and collectively responsible.

  • Only when a coworking space looks at itself through the eyes of its coworkers, it can build a strong community in a sustainable way.
