Herman Miller has been studying the future of work since 2001 and made a projection in 2006 called “Grounded” that predicted the impact of events such as pandemics and fluctuating oil prices. The study brought to light three key points that will shape the future of work in the next 5-7 years:  communities, not companies;  machines work for us and we want control;  and coworking.
